Description

A half hour of data before dawn is more than sufficient to show off this increasingly bright type II supernova - a giant star that went bang 21 million years ago.  Discoverd by Koichi Itagaki, it has been widely reported and imaged, and was brought to my attention by @Taman   Lying just above the bright knot NGC 5461 it is easily visible in a small telescope.

My image using 2 min exposures is almost overexposed, it has been a while since we had such an interesting supernova. Rev B shows an annotated inverted image.
